Le Hameau Albert 1er mérite en tous points son nom . C'est un havre de paix , à l'intérieur d'n grand jardin au charme infini , merveilleusement entretenu ( et je suis moi-même une jardinière passionnée depuis plusieurs décennies ) , qui conjugue luxe , calme et gentillesse , un endroit où l'on se ressource et retourne toujours avec autant de bonheur .

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to write this one because my experience staying at Hameau Albert Ier far surpassed all of my expectations. The pictures online do not capture how elegant and sumptuous the property is in person. The room was lovely--spacious, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The spa area, including the pool and hot tub, was very clean, well-maintained, and calming. We dined at La Maison Carrier and it was spectacular--some of the best in Chamonix, and it isn't even the best restaurant at the hotel! The location could not be better--a 2 minute walk to downtown Chamonix, which is convenient for access but far enough away to avoid the crowds and noise. Last but certainly not least, is the service. Everyone we encountered during our stay was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist with whatever we needed--changing restaurant reservations, booking a ski guide at the last minute, driving us to and from the mountain at a moment's notice. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

We had such a wonderful stay at Hameau Albert 1er. The entire team was so welcoming and did everything to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. It was our first visit to Chamonix and it truly could not have been better!

An elegant and sophisticated hotel that stays loyal to its rustic mountain heritage. The accommodation is aesthetically pleasing but does not compromise on comfort. A tranquil and romantic stay was what we sought and we were not disappointed. The staff were all professional but friendly. We hope to return in the future.

The reception,breakfast room and bar room lack the warmth, charm and authenticity of the Maison Carrier decoration., with old wood etc. This is something I would consider decorating if I were you. Apaprt from that, we had a delicious stay.

Booked a room in the chalet part for my honeymoon. The view was breath-taking. Staff was quiet but fulfilled all of our requirements and made our stay special. I highly recommend this place. Plus the spa and massage were perfect to end the stay fully relaxed

belle adresse, pas très bien indiquée dans Chamonix, bien siutée, belle chambre dans le style chalet, avec beaucoup de bois
nous aurions aimé être informé à l'avance de la présence de la ligne de chemin de fer qui passe très près de l'hôtel et sous nos fenêtres, cela aurait pu influencer notre choix

The property and staff were amazing, I enjoyed the short walk to town and the shuttle to take us to different locations in town. One thing I would change, the hotel offers bicycles and trekking poles, none of this was told to us until we saw it in the hotel. We did use the trekking poles but once we got to our hiking trail,, we found out both pairs of poles didn't work and were stuck carrying them the entire hike. We would have liked to have known about the bicycles as well, it would have been fun to ride around town.

Tout était absolument parfait, à l'exception d'un sujet de mécontentement : La chambre réservée (appartement à la Ferme) n'est accessible qu'après avoir gravi un escalier de 17 ou 18 marches. Ce point est une réelle contrainte, en particulier pour les PMR. Je ne pense pas que ce point soit signalé sur le site web ni en général ni lors du process de réservation. Peut-être est-ce signalé quelque part, mais c'est bien caché.

Loved the property and location! We did the grepon chalet, and it was perfect. Outside areas are lovely. Didn’t get a chance to visit the restaurants (other than breakfast) or pool.
I really appreciated the birthday gift and departing gift they gave us. Housekeeping was very good. I would prefer to have them just do the daily cleaning & turndown service without being notified, but I understand that could be difficult with the separate buildings, while trying to maintain privacy. Maybe if there was a privacy/service request button we could select that communicated with the front desk or housekeeping - that would be helpful?
Anyway, highly recommend this hotel. We had a wonderful stay.

Cadre inattendu en plein cœur de Chamonix, harmonie des jardins, des chalets bien conçus, discrétion et calme sont particulièrement appréciés, piscine spacieuse, SPA bien équipé facile d'accès et des plages horaires très inréressantes.

Si l'humilité bienveillante avait besoin d'un écrin, son refuge est certainement au Hameau Albert 1er. Il y règne une atmosphère qui vous éloigne du bruit et du temps, sous la vigilance des sommets dentelés qui entoure ce havre de paix. Tout semble simple, paisible, par les efforts de chaque personne qui y travaille, le tout porté par l'esprit d'une famille qui incarne ce lieu. En un mot, merci.

Le buffet du petit déjeuner est excellent.
Très bonne expérience au restaurant Albert 1er. Tous les plats étaient très bons !
Le service peut être amélioré ( taches sur la nappe lors du service) et la vitesse enchainement des plats est trop rapide. Le menu en 9 services est très (trop ?) copieux.
Piscine et Spa très agréable, dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de cabine double pour les massages en couple.

Super sejour. Augmenter le nombre de boiteilles d eau a disposition dans la chambre, 2 bouteilles pour 4 personnes c est trop juste. Nous aurions apprecie une petite attention de bienvenue. Mais sinon l hotel est tres agreable, nous avons passe une tres belle semaine.

Séjour très agréable dans une Maison pleine de charme et d’élégance. Personnel aux petits soins et très professionnel. Le jardin est magnifiquement entretenu et dîner dans celui-ci a été très agréable. L’accès à la piscine n’est pas toujours facile car la plage à l’extérieur est petite et les parasols parfois insuffisants, d’autre part il faudrait un affichage rappelant qu’il faut respecter la tranquillité de chacun au bord de la piscine ( enfants qui crient et sautent dans l’eau sans que les parents interviennent).

Our family’s stay at Hameau Albert 1er was exceptional. We loved the rustic feel of the 'cabane', and also enjoyed the sophisticated tones of the hotel rooms (we stayed in both). The proximity to Chamonix center, yet the calm of the walled property elevated our much anticipated visit to the Mont Blanc. Maison Carrier stunned us with it's simple, but succulent menu de pays. However, the highlight of our stays was our meal at Albert 1er. The menu 'Alpine Gleams' might have been the highlight of our two week trip through Belgium, Switzerland & France. Each course balanced refinement with a sense of place, and desserts like the Fir Tree Buds Soufflé and the inventive peach minestrone ended the meal, and our trip, on a memorable, almost poetic note. Thank-you Madame Carrier!

Reception, housekeeping and concierge outstanding. Warm professional welcome in line with Relais & Chateau brand. Room was cleaned to an exceptionally high standard. Turn down service efficient and very flexible to meet our needs of when we were planning to be out to dinner. Luggage was delivered to our room, and collected for our departure, efficiently and professionally.
Dining at Hameau Albert 1er is always perfection! Menu is original & exciting, cooking and presentation outstanding. Service faultless.
Breakfast in the restaurant was disappointing and resulted in a lower overall score for this hotel. The coffee was terrible, and we tried to send it back but we could not get the attention of the one waitress on duty at 7.30am. She was very busy and did not make eye contact during the one hour we were there. The buffet was on the whole, disappointing. Pastries and bread good. Jams & preservatives were not well labelled or presented; the salmon was not labelled (salmon? Trout? Smoked?), and waitress was still setting items onto the buffet tables at 7.15. There were two tables already eating. Staff need to start work earlier or hotel start buffet later! We cleared our own plates into the dresser behind us as the waitress was too busy to clear plates. This all resulted in a feeling of chaos and certainly not in line with the hotel’s usually high standard. We decided not to take breakfast in the restaurant on our second day.

Nous sommes venus pour nos 10ans de mariage dans l’établissement ALBERT 1er.
Notre chambre était très belle avec une vue sur l’aiguille du midi.
Le personnel était vraiment adorable et professionnel avec nous.
Le restaurant carrier avec son jardin est vraiment très bon.
Merci pour le sejour qui restera dans nos memoires de part le fait que c’était pour nos 10ans mais aussi pour le qualité excellente de l’établissement.

From the shuttle picking us up at the station, to running us around to, to our departure "basket" of warm breakfast breads and coffee - this was a wonderful stay! Great property in the most beautiful location! Staff was always welcoming and warm - and even knew our coffee order each morning!

Our experience with the staff upon first arrival to check-out was warmth, efficiency and excellence. We felt like we were visiting the home of a family member. The extent that Nathalie went to ensure we have a great bike ride (i.e. booking a loner bike for my son, providing a map and directions) was above and beyond expectations. I would recommend this resort to anyone. It is well worth the price.

The only small thing that surprised us was how the bathroom floor near the shower is not angled to keep the water from flowing out into the main part of the bathroom. Beyond that, our stay was incredibly wonderful.

Nous avons séjourné dans un cadre somptueux avec des personnes attentionnés, chaleureuses et accessibles. Ils nous ont donné d'excellentes recommandations, aidés pour la réservation d'activité et respecté notre tranquillité également. L'espace détente est tout juste incroyable et relaxant.

Un sans faute concernant la qualité de l’accueil et des prestations hôtelières
Le repas gastronomique restera gravé dans les mémoires
Un bémol cependant concernant le buffet qui nous a été proposé au déjeuner qui pour le prix acquitté fut une rare déception notamment par la qualité des mets et leur quantité
Le service malgré la gentillesse du seul personnel …. Ne fut pas digne d’un hotel 5 étoiles

The staff at the hotel and the Restaurant Albert 1er were professional, courteous and anticipated our every need. After checking in, they all seemed to know who we were. The view and the entire property were beautiful and majestic. Our experience with the Restaurant Albert 1er was a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience as they invited us back for dinner the following night where the chef had agreed to prepare a unique menu for us that was entirely different from the first night's dinner but yet used local and seasonal ingredients. It was like having our own personal Michelin starred chef! We could never have imagined such an experience!

4 ieme fois dans ce magnifique établissement et nous y revenons toujours avec plaisir. Tout le personnel est aux petits soins. Nous remercions Claire du petit-déjeuner pour son super accueil ainsi que la sommelière de la maison Carrier.

We loved our stay! It was both peaceful and exciting, more than we even expected for a short visit! The room was extremely comfortable, as was the bed, and we loved the spa. The restaurant was exceptional, just absolutely dreamy. A truly memorable, wonderful culinary experience. It was the best, most creative and mind-blowingly delicious dinner we have had in years.

Loved our stay. It was comfortable and welcoming and I wouldn't change a thing. When we return to Chamonix, we will DEFINITELY stay with you again. On a side note, the Nutella machine in your breakfast room was awesome. We're still talking about it! Thanks for a magical stay. Cheers!
