Diner au restaurant étoilé, excellent et nous sommes habitués aux maisons étoilés. Un seul bémol sur le plat d'agneau, mais tous les autres plats étaient largement au niveau d'une étoile

Je tiens à vous remercier chaleureusement de nous avoir accepté en Relais Team.
Nous avons tellement bien dormi et étions heureux d'être dans une si jolie chambre.
Nous souhaitions dîner à la Maison Carrier mais ce n'était pas possible finalement nous avons pris un room service.
C'était très bien, nous avons apprécié pouvoir dîner en profitant de la chambre et regardé les épisodes sur l'histoire de Chamonix.
Les cocktails étaient très bons. Un grand merci pour ce séjour d'exception que j'ai savouré pleinement après la saison d'hiver.

Un lieu qu’on a du mal à quitter une fois qu’on y a séjourné.
On y séjourne une fois en famille puis on rêve d’y retourner avec son conjoint.
Tout est beau et paisible. Cadre très chaleureux. Personnel très attentionné quel que soit le lieu et le moment. Nager face au glacier est une expérience magique.
Un restaurant d’exception en prime sur place.
Je recommande et rêve déjà d’y retourner.

I love this hotel and everything is fantastic - but have some comments this time:
- we’ve be going for 20 years now and never does anyone one say welcome back or similar! Might be nice to acknowledge repeat guests?
- sommelier in Maison Carrier verging on rude!
- don’t like to have request turn down - which I did every night, but one time it wasn’t done which is more annoying than if there were no turndown at all
- amazing gastronomique restaurant, but some staff a little surly - good be friendlier!
But despite these comments, hotel remains a gem. But a little improvement on the above would be great.

Loved our stay. It was comfortable and welcoming and I wouldn't change a thing. When we return to Chamonix, we will DEFINITELY stay with you again. On a side note, the Nutella machine in your breakfast room was awesome. We're still talking about it! Thanks for a magical stay. Cheers!

Overall experience was lovely. Only feedback is around the pool area. It would be extremely good to have water easily available in the pool without needing to flag down staff (as some may be unavailable). Additionally for the winter months, having the outside section of the pool heated more would make the outside enjoyable. During our stay, it wasn't necessarily warm. To balance the sustainability goals, I would suggest instating "warm hours" where the temperature is increased (i.e between 17h and 20h)

The stay itself was quite average, far below our expectations from prior stays with Relais and Chateaux. Certainly not a 5-star experience with inattentive staff, broken and outdated facilities, and unethical business practices.
The concierge and front desk make frequent mistakes and will charge the guest fees for them instead of taking responsibility. Everything they do must be double checked, detracting from the sense of relaxation and luxury that should encompass a stay with Relais and Chateaux.
Worst of all, the this property does not honor the value of Relais and Chateaux gift certificates and steals 15-20% of their value. They also try to sneak in charges at checkout. I have never had to challenge a hotel line item until visiting this property. These are fraudulent business practices and seriously makes me question the legality of their operation.

While the property is undeniably charming, there were a few key disappointments.
One surprising downside was the lack of cozy common areas—there were no outdoor firepits or indoor fireplaces, which felt like a missed opportunity, especially in a mountain setting where warmth and ambiance are so important.
The spa was also underwhelming. While it advertised a hot tub and an indoor/outdoor heated pool, the reality fell short. The hot tub was outdated and maintained at a tepid temperature, making it far from relaxing. The indoor/outdoor heated pool was disappointingly cold, and overall, the spa lacked the warmth and inviting atmosphere we had hoped for.

We had a really lovely stay. We found the staff went above and beyond to help and felt truly spoiled.
We had a problem with our private transfer on the return to the airport (this was not booked through the hotel) . Your staff went above and beyond to find us transport quickly so we could get to the airport in time. We are truly thankful, to them.

The property was fantastic and the service was excellent. The breakfast was very boring and limited at 34 euro per person. We felt it a bit much to charge an additional 7 euro for an omelette. It was also very strange that we had to boil our own eggs which were very hot when done so we had to request a bowl of cold water to cool the eggs each morning. It would be easier if they could just boil some eggs and offer them on the buffet. We eventually went outside the hotel for breakfast in order to have a bit more variety.
The pool facilities were very nice but the temperature of the water was too cold. We woke to other guests and they agreed. When we mentioned this to the staff they explained that the water temperature should be 24-28 degrees and they sent someone over to take the temperature. Indeed, the temperature was 28 degrees but this was really too cold to enjoy the pool, especially the outside portion of the pool. It would be much more comfortable if the kept the pool at 30 degrees. As a result, we did not use the pool, only the jacuzzi.
Overall a wonderful stay, fabulous staff and especially the driver Colin who was always on time, helpful and smiling.
We really enjoyed the fireplace in the room and the housekeeping staff was excellent.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour pour l'anniversaire de mon épouse. La Room Service qui apporte, lors de son anniversaire, avec le petit déjeuner commandé, la bougie sur un gâteau ainsi qu'un sachet comportant des cadeaux fut très émouvant et témoigne de l'importance porté à la satisfaction client et surtout au souvenir que le séjour créera...
Tout était parfait !
Seul petit point, mais très léger... sur la douche qui n'est pas pratique à utiliser et un pommeau pas très agréable...
Mais sinon encore une fois... Merci pour ce souvenir magique

We were very pleasantly surprised not knowing this hotel or area - at what a jewel of a hotel this was. But what made the stay so enjoyable was your staff!! Probably one of the best trained & competent teams I have ever experienced. Your concierge (Nathalie) was wonderful & helped us plan to avoid disappointment & make the trip so enjoyable. Almost to the person - too many to mention - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & as result - did not venture out as much as we thought for meals, & relaxation. Well Done!!

Un hôtel à la hauteur de sa renommée et du lieu dans lequel il se situe, des attentions qui savent faire plaisir. Cependant, étant nous même dans le domaine de l'hôtellerie restauration nous aurions aimé que la présentation de l'hôtel ne se limite pas seulement à la chambre mais également au spa ainsi qu'au bar. Le simple fait de nous aiguiller sur les parties communes permet une ergonomie de séjour encore meilleure. Dans l'ensemble nous avons passé une merveilleuse nuit, point d'honneur à notre chambre et son petit déjeuner en room service.

Le cadre est chaleureux, l’hôtel bien situé et très bien entretenu. Nous avons séjourné dans belle chambre avec terrasse vue sur les montagnes, une salle de bain spacieuse. La piscine est un vrai plus, autant pour la vue que pour sa partie extérieure chauffée même l’hiver. Le personnel est attentif, présent tout en étant discret. Nous reviendrons avec certitude dans cet établissement !

Mon séjour à l’hôtel Albert 1er a été très plaisant. La chambre était superbe, spacieuse, et impeccablement propre, avec une literie de grande qualité et une décoration élégante qui ajoutait une touche de confort. On sent tout de suite que l’établissement veille au bien-être de ses clients dans les moindres détails.
Le restaurant, quant à lui, est une véritable découverte culinaire ! Les plats sont savoureux, bien présentés et préparés avec des ingrédients frais. Le service est aussi irréprochable, avec une équipe aux petits soins.
Seul bémol : la température de la piscine et du jacuzzi. Bien que l’espace détente soit agréable et bien entretenu, l’eau mériterait d’être plus chaude pour un moment de relaxation optimal.

Relaxed, efficient and friendly 5th generation family hotel, totally in line with Relais & Chateaux standards. Approachability and friendliness of the staff omnipresent. Nothing was too much trouble. Our bed was extremely comfortable. room service was excellent. Champagne available for breakfast Buck’s Fizz was a nice touch and just too good to resist (we were on holiday).
We missed the gourmet restaurant unfortunately. However, the late night bar is equally glamorous yet cool, and the on-duty night barman is a real character and helped different nationalities chat together. You certainly don’t need to be a skier to enjoy the hotel, but it has everything the body and soul might need after a day on the mountain. Looking forward to returning asap !

The most annoying thing was the timing of daily room cleaning as it could be as late as 4:30 pm. This was extremely annoying in planning my day to be out of the room whenever housekeeping might show up. The hotel advised guests of the range of timing of housekeeping in writing upon arrival, bit this did not make it less inconvenient. Chamonix is a town where it is wise for guests to visit the mountains in the mornings when skies are clearer and return in early afternoon. It would ne most convenient for guests if housekeeping was performed then. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over Europe over the years and generally not had this problem so I am not sure why R&C, a chain known for superior accommodation & service, cannot make it happen as a matter of course for all guests. If other, less prestigious, hotels can make it happen, Hameau Albert 1er Chamonix should be able to as well without a special request from guests.

tout était parfait à l'exception du repas pris à la maison Carrier dont la qualité de la viande est absolument indigne du prix astromique proposé.
Ca ne me dérange absolument pas de payer des produits trés cher de qualité mais là c'était honteux ,meme au macdo ça serait inacceptable.
Vous n'etes pas dans le morceau de viande je le concois tout à fait mais cela à gaché ma fin de séjour.
Par contre le repas au restaurant Albert 1er etait tout bonnement incroyable, encore des félicitations au chef et à l'équipe.

One major criticism of this property is the breakfast. The breakfast area and food is sub-standard for €35 per person. Food not so great, not a lot of choice, with the little choice there is it is not refilled, messy and cramped. I was honestly shocked by the breakfast offering for this property. The a la carte choices (menu) was super basic and that offering should be, at the very least, included in the price. Frankly, the hotel should not be charging for breakfast of that quality. The breakfast area was not great either. Not well decorated and small.

Nous revenons régulièrement dans cet établissement où tout est absolument parfait : gentillesse de l’accueil, chalets parfaits, restaurants délicieux, le Spa est fabuleux été comme hiver. Je ne peux que recommander cet établissement notamment pour le personnel qui nous fait nous sentir chez comme nous dans cette très belle maison.

Très belle établissement. Seul fausse note, c'est que l'on ne m' a pas demander ni nous souhaitions diner en terrasse. Nous avons diné dans une pièce exiguë. Le choix aurait du nous être proposé lors de la réservation qui avait eu lieu plusieurs jours avant et nous aurions pris nos dispositions. Malgré notre réclamation, le personnel ne nous a pas proposé solution de rechange (Décaler l'heure du repas par exemple)... A la sortie du restaurant, il restait deux tables de 2 personnes vides...
Le repas a été réduit à sa plus simple expression, un plat principal et c'est tout. ( Repas sans apéritif, sans entrée et sans de dessert).
Un gout amère pour cette soirée qui devait être une fête. Dommage.

Je connais cette maison depuis déjà quelques années et j'y reviens avec toujours le même plaisir, pour la qualité des prestations autant que pour l'atmosphère simple et chaleureuse. Le Hameau Albert 1er procure tout ce que l'on attend de réconfort au retour des courses en montagne. À noter cette année que la table gastronomique progresse significativement pour atteindre des sommets de finesse et de caractère.

Séjour fantastique à 2mn du centre ville. Bâtiment principal et chalets savoyard sont situés dans un magnifique parc. Chambre grand confort avec vue sur le Mont Blanc du balcon fleuri ou de la baignoire balnéo. Possibilité de faire une flambée dans la chambre de 40m2 aménagée avec beaucoup de goût .
À ne pas louper le petit déjeuner dans le jardin à côté d’un petit ruisseau ni le dîner au restaurant de l’hôtel.

Dans les points positifs : tout ce qui concerne la situation exceptionnelle de cet hotel 5* à Chamonix, garage pour les clients, accueil au top, et on a adoré tous les jardins, les superbes fleurs sur les balcons et surtout la piscine hors du commun face au Mont-Blanc !
Dans les points à améliorer : quelques détails pas dignes d’un 5* comme des équipements défectueux dans la salle de bain (support de pommeau cassé, carrelage fendu, …), le petit déjeuner est correct mais cher par rapport à la prestation, on a vu des petits déjeuners bien plus complets pour moins chers dans d'autres hôtels même en 4*, pas la clim dans toutes les chambres,…
Mais globalement cela reste un hôtel fabuleux, on a passé un super moment et on reviendra !

This was my third visit as a guest of the hotel and a dining guest at the stunning restaurant. I'm always taken by the way the property feels like a quiet refuge from bustling (and charming!) Chamonix, filled with subtle comfort. The food is always an adventure and reflective of the place and moment. The service is warm and graceful. In particular I've enjoyed the art and have purchased two pieces over the years.

I thought the property was beautiful and the breakfast was excellent. We were very comfy in our room. Music in the bar was wonderful!
Things that I wish were a little improved:
1. It seemed like the staff was always rushing from one place to the next. When we were having breakfast, it was lovely but people were walking quickly and hurriedly through to refill and clean up. It's good to have that mentality so everything is full and clean but seemed not relaxing. We also had drinks at the bar with music and it was great but still staff kept going through quickly with dishes from the dinner or just to pass through.
2. The hot tub should be a little warmer (maybe that's just a preference).
3. Unfortunately, it rained the majority of time we were there and so we couldn't hike/see the mountains if we did. When we asked what we should do instead, we didn't really get any help other than you can still go hiking.

Tout est magnifique, de l'hôtellerie jusqu'au restaurant, rien à redire sur le cadre ni les prestations proposées.
A noter un léger manque de "charme montagnard" que l'on pourrait retrouver dans d'autres hébergements de ce genre dans d'autres stations. De même l'équipe du restaurant 1* est assez jeune et ça ce sent dans le service, même si il n'y a rien eu de désagréable non plus.
En bref, un très très beau moment dans un endroit d'exception.

It is always a big pleasure to be coming back to Chamonix and Hameau Alber 1er. I have been coming to the same hotel continiously for the past 13 years. I beleive that is enough proof of my satisfaction! And I always try to stay in the same room. Hameau Albert 1 er is for me simply the best hotel.

My husband and I recently had a brief but stay at Hameau Albert 1er. We very much enjoyed our stay and found the landscaping to be lovely, the interiors well appointed and the location ideal. More importantly, the staff was exceptional, and went to great lengths to assist me with a problem of my own creation - leaving medication at my previous hotel. The staff was patient with my requests and very accommodating, even reaching out to me each day after my departure, till the problem was resolved. Exceptional service. Highly recommend.

Wir waren mit der Unterbringung sehr zufrieden, enttäuscht hat uns allerdings, dass es im Vorfeld keine Information gab, dass Frühstück extra verrechnet wird, obwohl wir mit Frühstück gebucht hatten. Bei diesen Zimmerpreisen wäre zu erwarten, dass dies inklusive wäre, auch der Nachmittagskuchen wurde extra verrechnet, es wurde aber nicht darauf hingewiesen, unserer Meinung nach könnte die Information dazu transparenter gemacht werden.

This was an incredible stay, not only because the property was do lovely but your staff truly went above and beyond. We had an unfortunate medical emergency upon our arrival and your staff helped us obtain the necessary doctors appointments almost immediately. This would have been impossible for us to do on our own. The gentlemen who drove us to the doctors, especially Arnold, were so kind and helped my mom to and from the door. I don't know if I've ever experienced such kindness at a hotel. The room, food, and grounds were a delight as well. I cannot say thank you enough to the staff for helping us. We feel beyond fortunate to have stayed with you.

Ein ausgesprochen stilvolles Haus mit einem exzellenten Restaurant. Zimmer Nr. 7 ist aufgrund seiner Ausstattung im alpinen Stil, den Kamin und den großen Balkon, aber auch durch die passenden modernen Elemente ein Traum. Schade, dass wir nicht länger bleiben konnten. Wir fassen es aber für den Winterurlaub ins Auge.

Lots of small details everywhere you look. Real linen, leather padded walls in elevator, placement of windows for best view, consistent theme of crystals and minerals as decorating accents. Tastefully blended modern furniture with Alpine antiques. The place even smalls good, like pine and a fireplace. The tasting menu is sublime.
